What to expect on your lifestyle session.
These sessions are always great fun - whether you’re a family with little ones, engaged to be married, pregnant or even going to propose and want someone there to capture it.
We work in a way that puts you at ease and makes it feel as though we're just hanging out together!
No cheesy poses. No fake smiles for so long your face hurts. No awkwardness. We’ll have a laugh, find some great backdrops and shoot some wholesome photos.
These shoots can take place anywhere, be that beautiful scenery or an environment that you love and feel most comfortable in.
It’s also a great way for our engaged couples who have booked us for their wedding, to get used to how we work and to get some experience together in front of the camera.
Where?
There are endless possibilities. The first thing we would suggest is thinking of somewhere that is meaningful to you. Whether that is on the beach, a hike up a hill, in the woodlands or on the sofa in your family home. We're more than happy to help out and make some suggestions.
When?
For indoor sessions, the time is pretty flexible. Outdoor sessions we prefer to take place during the golden hour, which is the time of day just after sunrise or just before sunset when the light is gorgeous and flattering. The time of this obviously changes during the seasons and in summer this can make the start times either really early in the morning or much later in the evening. The choice will always be yours though if that doesn't quite suit, the only time we would avoid is around midday when the sun is at it’s highest.
What to wear.
Always wear something you feel comfortable in. We don’t want you feeling uncomfortable or self-conscious in any way so always make comfort your priority!
Wear something you love, dressing up a bit is lovely too and can make the shoot feel a little more special, we also recommend you wear complimenting colours with one another.
If we are outside always bring warm clothes to warm up afterwards. If you want to, you can bring blankets to snuggle in. We do tend to walk a fair bit too so do be prepared for that, comfy shoes are best.
TIP - Avoid bringing along anything that you’d have to carry if possible and try not to have things in your pockets (bulky phones/wallets really stand out).
What to expect on the shoot.
We usually start by having a good chat then we tend to get you to walk ahead a little whilst we get some shots - this way usually helps you get used to the cameras from a distance.
We generally then just request you to pause now and again whenever we see a cool backdrop or pretty lighting and will then ask you to interact naturally with one another.
We’ll use some gentle exercises and prompts combined with lots of questions to keep you relaxed. The exercises are just a little bit of fun and are nothing scary, the prompts are as simple as moving your hand to a better position or having you look at one another.
You may be a couple or family who’s more confident with public affection or you may not be, it really doesn’t matter! Just be yourselves, that’s the most important thing.
We want you to be completely at ease so there will be no pushing you around or forcing you to pose - absolutely none of that!
We’re there to capture your love authentically and to photograph the real you - we want you to feel from your photos what you felt in that moment in time so we certainly don't want you to feel awkward or anxious at all.

TIP - This is really more of a request, please always bring your dogs as we really really love dogs!
After the shoot.
You will receive your images on a password protected online gallery around 4-6 weeks later.
You will be able to download individual photos or the entire album, it’s your choice.
The gallery is password protected but can be shared with family and friends, you will also have the ability to make photos private for your eyes only.
All images are provided in the highest resolution, in a range of colour and black & white. You can order albums and fine art prints with a variety of different options directly from the gallery. The entire process is handled by the award winning prints company Loxley Colour and sent straight out to you.
